Answer questions
Why solar roller shutters?
Solar roller shutters are suitable wherever there is no power connection or cables cannot be laid.
This can be the case, for example, in listed buildings or outbuildings. Sheds, garages or gazebos without a power connection can also be equipped with solar-powered roller shutters .
Do solar roller shutters need a power connection?
No, roller shutters with a solar drive work completely independently and do not require a power connection. This has a number of advantages, in particular it makes installation much easier. Installation is completely wireless , unless the solar module is not mounted on the box as standard.
Depending on the situation, a solar module that can be installed separately can be used (optionally). This can be installed with a wall bracket near the roller shutter to take advantage of better lighting conditions. A connecting cable must then be laid from the external module to the box.
When to use roller shutters for 230V?
Not all on-site conditions make the use of solar roller shutters possible. If the installation location is in the shade of other buildings or tall vegetation, there may not be enough daylight reaching the roller shutter's solar cells. The charging process then of course takes considerably longer or is not possible.
Likewise, a motor with a connection to 230V is more suitable for frequently used and frequently used roller shutters that carry out more than 4-5 switching operations per day.
How do solar shutters work?
Solar-powered roller shutters basically work in the same way as “normal” electric roller shutters. The systems use the power of the sun to continuously charge the roller shutter battery. This usually also works on the north side of the building.
The solar energy obtained from sunlight is converted via the photovoltaic cell on the box, which requires at least sufficient daylight at the installation site. The manufacturers' respective installation restrictions must always be observed.
