Front roller shutter assembly
Measurement and installation of front-mounted roller shutters
Install front roller shutters step by step
Front-mounted roller shutters are an excellent solution for subsequent installation . Compared to conventional roller shutters, they even have the advantage of avoiding thermal bridges.
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to install such roller shutters:
-
Preparation :
- Window reveal : Depending on the construction situation, the front-mounted roller shutter can be installed in front of or in the window reveal .
- It should be noted that when installing within the window reveal, it may be necessary. the upper window area can be completely or partially covered.
-
measurement
- Measure the window reveal : When ordering the front-mounted roller shutter, it is important to measure the window reveal very precisely.
- The niche must be measured at different points.
- the width should be measured in 3 places and the height in 2 places .
- When installing within the niche, you should subtract around 5 mm from the measured niche dimensions (depending on the nature of the niche) so that the roller shutter is guaranteed to fit into the niche.
-
Assembly steps :
- Pre-drill mounting holes : If the two guide rails do not yet have mounting holes, they must be pre-drilled before assembly.
- Attach the guide rails : The guide rails are attached to the two connectors/connecting pins on the roller shutter box.
- Opening in the masonry and window frame : Depending on the version (belt or electrically operated), an opening in the masonry or window frame is required for the belt or the power connection.
- With solar roller shutters, the wall breakthrough is completely eliminated. There is also no need to lay cables.
- The roller shutter is fastened according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Belt deflection : On a hand-operated front-mounted roller shutter with a belt pull, the belt deflection is mounted at the top of the belt inlet and the belt winder at the bottom. This installation effort is not necessary for electric roller shutters or solar roller shutters.
- Electric front-mounted roller shutter : Electrically operated versions can be controlled via a permanently installed control element or a hand transmitter (radio motor required).
- The start and end position of the roller shutter is set according to the manufacturer's instructions by programming the control element or hand transmitter. On some brands, the roller shutter automatically detects its end positions.
- Electrical connections should always be carried out by a specialist. With solar roller shutters, the usual electrical work and cable laying are no longer necessary.
